Karen was born and raised in a small town in Michigan. She attended cosmetology school at Douglas J Aveda Institute in E. Lansing, Michigan. Looking for a change of pace, she moved to Tucson, Arizona where she earned her B.A. degree in creative writing from the University of Arizona. Currently, Karen resides and works in Southern California.
She got her start working behind the scenes as a hairstylist. After a colleague asked Karen to be a makeup and hair model, she realized she enjoyed being in front of the camera much more and decided to pursue modeling.
Her attitude towards modeling:
“I enjoy both the process and the finished product. There’s nothing quite like the feeling I get after finishing a successful shoot, except maybe seeing the finished photos afterwards.”
Her experience includes everything from liquor and sports promotions to local TV commercials. Karen has worked many parties and events throughout Arizona and Northern and Southern California. You’ll also see her face featured on a number of websites and calendars.
In addition to modeling, Karen keeps busy as an English instructor. Pilates keeps her in shape, but she also enjoys getting her exercise outdoors by rollerblading or hiking.
